Social Media for Social Good Joey Shepp is an Internet entrepreneur, professional speaker and sustainability consultant. He is the sustainable programs director at Dominican University of California and founder and principal consultant of Earthsite, a digital media agency for sustainable brands. Joey consults brands on how to leverage digital media for sustainability communications. In his 15+ years of experience, he has developed hundreds of green business websites and speaks extensively at green and technology conferences. Joey holds a degree in ecological design from UC, Santa Cruz, an MBA in sustainable enterprise from Dominican University of California and is a black belt in aikido. He lives and works in the North Bay Area, California. |

He creates innovative ways to illustrate the relationship between individuals, the built environment and living systems. Local Music: Mike Gibbons & Megan Slankard Mike Gibbons is a wandering singer-songwriter who found his home in Northern California in 2003 after growing up in locales such as Bangkok, Nairobi, Cairo and Brussels. These wide and eclectic cultural influences play a large part in his music, which exhibits a global musical sensibility beyond his years. After having spent the last year living in Thailand with his wife, Mike is returning to the Bay Area and will be performing a “Back to the Bay” tour. Keynote Speaker: Van Jones Van Jones is president and cofounder of Rebuild the Dream, a platform for bottom-up, people-powered innovations to help fix the U.S. economy. A Yale-educated attorney, Van has written two new York Times best sellers: The green Collar Economy, the definitive book on green jobs and rebuild the Dream, a roadmap for progressives in 2012 and beyond. Local Music: Sofi Rox Sophia Roxanna Setrakian, also known as Sofi Rox, is an open-hearted singer-songwriter with a deep love for the truth. Music Headliner: Ricardo Lemvo Ricardo Lemvo’s blend of Afro-Cuban rhythms with pan-African styles (soukous, Angolan semba and kizomba) has been described by the LA Times as “seamless and infectious.” This Congo-born artist of Angolan ancestry is the embodiment of the Afro-Latin Diaspora which connects back to Mother Africa via the Cuban clave rhythm. Lemvo is equally at home singing in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Lingala and Kikongo. Hang Solo Performance: Laura Inserra Laura Inserra is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, teacher and artistic director. She is a classically trained musician with a strong improvisational background.
