Event Greening for EcoFair Marin 2012
Last year EcoFair Marin diverted 89% of its waste from the landfill. In 2012, we are moving closer to our goal of becoming a zero-waste event. Our three greening partners will ensure that every feature of the fair—from public to back-of-house operations—will be sustainably produced.
Special thanks to Seven-Star, Inc., producer of Green Festivals, for coordinating the effort; Conservation Corps North Bay for sorting the waste; and Marin Sanitary Service for helping with disposal. From using environmentally responsible products and services to exhibitors contributing their own carbon offsets, our aim is to tread lightly on the Earth. This year we plan on donating the offsets we collect to Marin Releaf, which is dedicated to planting trees throughout Marin.
